We met Julie when she and her family were relocating to Maine and came by the store. After chatting briefly we discovered she was the artist behind the beloved ceramics line Object & Totem. We have been enamored with her work for years and are just so excited to feature her prominently in our store. After a lovely coffee date, we created this collection collaboratively, leaning on Julie’s established silhouettes and deep glaze knowledge while aiming to solve for vessels our customers ask us for frequently and we haven’t to date been able to find in the market. We are thrilled to share this collection and will be rotating in new designs seasonally.

Object & Totem was founded in 2011, by Julianne Ahn, a Textile Design graduate of The Rhode Island School of Design and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Wheel thrown, extruded, and hand built ceramic based works draw inspiration from synthesizing traditional East Asian and European vase forms with everyday objects, creating meditative relationships and totemic balance. Formerly based in Philadelphia, Berlin and Brooklyn, the studio is currently located in Cumberland County, Maine, with a current emphasis on limited edition vases, select functional ware for home and bath, Wood-fired ceramics and fine art objects.
